In my recently released book Little Red Riding Hood is bored of her story. As she lies on her sofa, she wails that she knows it all by heart. It’s always the same old thing: with a forest, her mother, her grandmother, a hunter, a big bad wolf and blah, blah, blah. She dreams of going into the book standing next to hers on the shelf, into a storybook about a boy who is trying to save a whale stranded on a beach. Her mum says it won’t be possible. Will she make it? 

Written in Spanish and translated into French by Manon Brügger and into English (by myself with the precious help of Caroline Thonger), this book aims to encourage creativity and the questioning of limitations, even those that have been self-imposed. Illustrated by Eileen Muñoz and Designed for children aged 6 to 100, its themes include freedom, empowerment, the construction of identity, self-affirmation, and protecting the environment.

En mi libro Caperucita Roja está aburrida de su cuento, ya lo conoce de memoria. Siempre la misma historia, con un bosque, su mamá, su abuela, un cazador, un lobo feroz y bla, bla, bla. Ella sueña con irse «al libro de al lado» para conocer el mar y ayudar al niño que busca salvar a una ballena. Allá la esperan nuevas aventuras.

Escrito en español y traducido al francés por Manon Brügger y al inglés (por mí misma con la valiosa ayuda de Caroline Thonger), este libro pretende fomentar la creatividad y el cuestionamiento de las limitaciones, incluso las autoimpuestas. Ilustrado por Eileen Muñoz y pensado para niños de 6 a 100 años, sus temas incluyen la libertad, el empoderamiento, la construcción de la identidad, la autoafirmación y la protección del medio ambiente.
